Welcome
Dr. Angela LaSalle's practice includes treatment and evaluation of hormonal issues related to thyroid, metabolic syndrome and bio-identical hormone replacement. She has a special interest in the biochemistry, physiology, and inflammatory responses that occur in the body, affecting our genes and brain chemicals.
Believing that addressing all of these are necessary to fight illness and disease, Dr. LaSalle places an emphasis on treating the body as a whole and looking for the common thread that leads to numerous degenerative processes.
Dr. LaSalle sees the opportunity to help fulfill the need to get to the root cause of disease at the level of the patient's biochemistry. Many of our patients come to us because they have been missed by standard health care treatments and diagnoses that tend to address the symptoms, rather than seeking the source of illness.
Looking at the interaction between our genetics and environment, Dr. LaSalle is a strong believer that inflammation is the underlying cause of many diseases. She includes life style, diet, nutritional supplementation and stress management to treat her patient. Her emphasis is on getting to the core issues to slow disease progression, and reversing when possible.
Dr. LaSalle uses a multidisciplinary approach, including lab testing and more comprehensive therapies, to help customize and guide treatment more accurately for patients with mood and concentration issues, hormonal imbalances and metabolic or nutritional issues. "Treatment of mood and concentration problems with the appropriate medications is vital, but we also need to rule out underlying hormonal and metabolic issues to optimize our patient's response to therapy," states Dr. LaSalle. "We cannot underestimate the effect of nutrition and hormones on the brain chemistry. The body cannot make neurotransmitters without the appropriate building blocks".
A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. LaSalle is board certified in Family Medicine with a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona, a program founded by Andrew Weil, M.D.
Hailing from Fort Wayne, IN, Dr. LaSalle's focus has been in the field of Endocrinology, with special emphasis on the interplay of hormones, nutrition and lifestyle on the balance of the neurotransmitters and the immune system. She is the winner of Fort Wayne Newspaper's 2009 Readers Choice for General Practice Doctor's Office and the 2008 Readers Choice award for Best Physician. Dr. LaSalle brings her practice from Fort Wayne to the Indianapolis metropolitan area to expand the delivery of Integrative Medicine services to Indiana and Midwest residents.
